At the 24 October 2025 ABET governance meeting, the Computing Area Delegation (CAD) allowed the proposed changes to the CS Program Criteria to be removed from further consideration; that is, the proposed changes will not be implemented. The proposed revisions will remain posted on the ABET website until about December 1, 2025, at which time they will be removed. The proposed revisions to the CS program criteria included new requirements for substantial coverage of “software engineering; and artificial intelligence,” and for exposure to “specialized platforms; graphics and interactive techniques; human computer interaction; and sustainable computing.” Even though they will not be implemented, you still can find all of the details regarding the proposed changes here (see page 5).
