On July 20, 2019, the ABET Computing Area Delegation approved for public review and comment program criteria for associate cybersecurity and similarly named programs. These criteria are the culmination of several years of work by CSAB and ABET, based on the CSEC2Y curricular guidelines being developed by the ACM Committee for Computing Education in Community Colleges (CCECC). CSAB and ABET have also trained some of the CCECC members involved in developing the criteria as program evaluators. Piloting of the criteria is anticipated to begin in fall 2020.
