At the October 2024 ABET Board of Delegates meeting, CSAB was approved as the lead professional society for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and similarly named programs (and the CAC was approved as the corresponding Accrediting Commission as well). While CSAB is currently working on developing program criteria for AI/ML, at this time there is no anticipated date for approval or implementation of that criteria. CSAB is now the lead ABET member society for accreditation of degree programs in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning.
